In a fumigation, a room is flooded with a poisonous gas to fight pests / bacteria. Because they are toxic gases, special safety measures are required. It is a device which is used for the disinfection of rooms. Formaldehyde is boiled on the left-hand cooking plate and placed in a stream of air in a room together with condensed water (right hearth), killing all the bacteria.
