Kunzmann WF5 tool milling machine with Heidenhain TNC 407 control

With a key switch for conventional/CNC operation, the machine can be operated either like a conventional milling machine using handwheels and a simple feed rate adjustable via a potentiometer, or in CNC mode with full CNC functionality.

Heidenhain TNC407:

The Heidenhain TNC407 is a high-precision and dynamic CNC control, characterized by very high contour accuracy even at high feed rates. The following features are particularly noteworthy:

Programming language selectable: DIN 66025 or Heidenhain Klartext.

With the free TNC Remo data transfer software from Heidenhain, data such as programs, tool tables, etc., can be sent back and forth from the control via the RS232/RS422 interface without having to operate the PC. In this case, the PC serves as the server. The same is also possible in reverse, with the controller serving as the server.

The controller is also ideal for connecting to CAD/CAM systems such as Fusion 360. For extremely long programs, the programs can be transferred block by block in reload mode; in this case, the size of the program no longer plays a role.
