Description / Scope of Functions
A DSC is used for the thermal analysis of materials. It measures the heat flow that occurs in a sample during physical or chemical processes when it is heated or cooled in a controlled manner. The device enables the investigation of the following material properties, among others:
- Melting and solidification temperatures
- Glass transition temperatures (Tg)
- Crystallization
- Phase transitions
- Reaction enthalpy
- Heat capacity
- Purity determination of substances
Typical fields of application:

The Intracooler 40 enables active cooling below room temperature without the need for liquid nitrogen and significantly extends the temperature range.
