The Ring Tester is designed for automatic crack detection on ring-shaped components such as bearing races and gears, using the eddyvisor C. Additionally, customers can test for grinding burn on the inner and outer rings of roller bearings. For this purpose, a robot handles and guides the sensor precisely along the contours of the test piece.
The machine conducts tests using up to two probes. All relevant scan parameters and communication for controlling the eddyvisor C are integrated into the robot’s scanning program.

At the heart of the system is the eddyvisor C 2-channel eddy current tester, which ensures reliable detection of cracks and grinding burn. Process automation is managed by an integrated Stäubli TX2-60 robot. The entire system is controlled and operated via a control cabinet featuring an integrated control and operator panel. A vertical spindle with a chuck securely clamps each test part during inspection. Non-conforming parts (NOK) detected during testing are automatically sorted onto two dedicated NOK discharge lanes. A separate staging area for reference and master parts supports calibration and continuous quality assurance during testing. The system includes the Optical Reflection Sensor by ibg (iORS) for precise, non-contact inspection of rings.
